On this page

If you don't have a website, Seovyn writes one and hosts it for you: a home page that works as your landing page, the pages your kind of business needs, an about page, a contact page and a blog. It works on phones, and every article you approve is published to it automatically. There's nothing to install or keep up to date.

Create your site

Choose I don't have a website yet when you sign up and tell Seovyn your business name and what it does, with a phone number (and whether it's on WhatsApp) and the area you work in if you like. Or, later, pick No website yet? on the Publishing page. Then:

  1. Name it

The site name is your business name. The tagline (optional) is one line under it on the home page. The site's description comes from your brand voice, so fine-tune the wording there.

  2. Pick its address

Your site gets a free address on seovyn.site, such as yourbakery.seovyn.site: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. You can point your own domain at it later.

  3. Build it

Choose Build my site. It's live in moments, and Seovyn treats it as your website from then on. Articles you've already approved go out with it.

Your pages, written for you

Within about a minute of building the site, Seovyn writes its pages from your description: a home page with a clear heading, reasons to choose you, your services, a few questions customers ask, your latest articles and a call to action; a page for what you offer (a menu, services, treatments, products, whatever fits); an about page; and a contact page. Your pages on the site's card shows them, each with View.

Seovyn writes only what you've told it. It never makes up prices, reviews, years in business, awards or opening hours: where it doesn't know, it writes around it ("Ask us for a quote").

  • Ask for a change. Say it as you would to a person: "Add a page for our catering service", "Make the home page shorter", "Add a question about delivery areas". Give prices, reviews and hours in the request and Seovyn can use them.
  • Write them all again rewrites every page from your description.
  • Earlier versions keeps each version, by you or by Seovyn; Restore puts one back (and that can be undone too).

What's on it

  • A home page with your name and tagline, the sections Seovyn wrote, and your latest articles.
  • Your articles, each with its cover image, at /blog/…, /compare/… or /features/… depending on the page type.
  • Everything search engines look for: a sitemap, an RSS feed, canonical addresses, structured data, and an llms.txt for AI assistants. New articles are sent to IndexNow automatically.
  • A contact page, if you add business details (below).

Every approved article is added as soon as you approve it, and refreshes and new links between articles update it too. If an upload fails, Seovyn retries, and your site keeps serving what it had in the meantime.

Change how it looks

Once the site is live, its settings card has Visit site and lets you change:

SettingWhat it does
TaglineThe line under your name
AboutA few sentences about your business on the home page
Brand colorYour color, or Use automatic
Show "Published with Seovyn"A small link in the footer. Off if you'd rather not

Save changes updates the live site.

Business details and the contact page

Under Business details, add your phone, WhatsApp number, email, street address, the area you serve and your opening hours. They appear on your contact page and in the footer, with Call and WhatsApp buttons on phones, and they're given to Google as your business listing details.

Turn on Contact page with an enquiry form and visitors can write to you from your site. You get each message by email, and see them all under Business details.

Use your own domain

Your own domain is on the Pro and Scale plans. A domain already set up keeps working if you move to Free.

Under Your own domain, enter an address you own, such as blog.yourcompany.com, and choose Add domain. Then:

  1. Add the DNS record shown at your domain provider: usually a CNAME. For a bare domain like yourcompany.com, where most providers won't accept a CNAME, add the A record shown instead. Some domains also need a TXT record; if so, it's listed.
  2. On Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied.
  3. Wait. Seovyn keeps checking, even after you close the page, and switches your site over as soon as the record is in place and the certificate is issued. Check now checks immediately.

DNS changes can take a while to spread. Until your domain is live, your site stays on its seovyn.site address. Once it's live, the free address sends visitors to your domain.

Remove domain puts the site back on its free address.

Taking articles down

From Cleanup, a hosted site supports both ways of retiring an article: Take it down removes it from the site, and Hide from Google keeps it on the site but tells search engines not to index it (and takes it out of the sitemap and feed).

Take the site down

Take the site down removes the site and its address. Your articles stay in Seovyn, and you can build a new site or connect another platform any time.
