XML Sitemap Generator
Paste a list of URLs and get a valid sitemap.xml, with optional last-modified dates.
Your URLs
Lines starting with # are ignored. Include only pages you want indexed.
Only add a date if it is true for every page. Search engines use it when it is accurate, so leave it out rather than guess.
Your sitemap.xml
Put the file at the root of your site, add a Sitemap: line to your robots.txt, and submit it in Google Search Console.
How to use it
Paste your URLs, one per line, and get a valid sitemap.xml. Duplicates are removed, anything that isn't a full web address is flagged, and special characters are escaped so the file stays valid.
Before you submit it
- List only pages you want indexed: canonical addresses that return a normal page, not redirects, errors or
noindexpages. - Add the last modified date only if it's true. Search engines use it when it's accurate and learn to ignore it when it isn't.
- Put the file at the root of your site and add
Sitemap: https://example.com/sitemap.xmlto your robots.txt. - Submit it in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
Limits
A single sitemap can hold up to 50,000 URLs (and 50 MB uncompressed). Bigger sites use a sitemap index that points to several sitemaps, for example one for each kind of page.
Does a sitemap guarantee indexing?
No. It helps search engines find your pages; whether they index them depends on quality and other signals.

- SitemapA sitemap is a file that lists the pages of a site you want search engines to find, often with the date each last changed.
- robots.txtrobots.txt is a text file at the root of a site that tells crawlers which paths they may or may not fetch. It controls crawling, not indexing.
- IndexingIndexing is when a search engine stores a page in its database so it can appear in results. A page that isn't indexed can't rank.
- Google Search ConsoleGoogle Search Console is Google's free tool that shows how your site performs in search: which queries bring clicks, which pages are indexed, and what's wrong.
