What is Google Search Console?
Google Search Console is Google's free tool that shows how your site performs in search: which queries bring clicks, which pages are indexed, and what's wrong.
Google Search Console is a free tool from Google for site owners. You verify that you own a site, and Google shows you how the site appears in its results.
What it shows
- Performance: clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, by query, page, country and device.
- Indexing: which pages Google has indexed, and why others haven't been.
- Enhancements and problems: structured data and mobile usability issues, security problems, manual actions.
- Tools: submit a sitemap, inspect a URL, request indexing.
Why it's the most useful SEO data you have
It's first-party: it tells you what Google itself saw, not an estimate. The queries report is also a great source of ideas, because it shows searches you already appear for but could serve better.
