What is Internal linking?
Internal links are links from one page of your site to another. They help readers navigate and help search engines find pages and understand how they relate.
Updated
An internal link points from one page on your site to another page on the same site. They're one of the few ranking factors fully in your control.
What they do
- Help search engines discover pages and understand how they relate.
- Pass authority from strong pages to the pages they link to.
- Guide readers to the next useful thing.
Doing it well
- Use descriptive anchor text that says what the destination is about ("keyword research guide", not "click here").
- Link where it helps the reader, from the sentence where the other page is relevant.
- Link to important pages from several places.
- Don't leave pages orphaned: every page should have at least one link pointing to it.
- Keep every link real. A broken internal link is a dead end.
How Seovyn handles it
When it writes, Seovyn only links to pages that exist on your site: it keeps a list of your real pages and strips any internal link it can't match. Once a new article is confirmed live, it links to it from related articles.

- Topic clusterA topic cluster is a group of related pages: a broad pillar page on a subject, and detailed pages on its subtopics that all link back to it.
- Crawl budgetCrawl budget is how many pages a search engine will crawl on your site in a given time. It only becomes a problem on large sites.
- SitemapA sitemap is a file that lists the pages of a site you want search engines to find, often with the date each last changed.
